Richard Hills organ
This recital celebrates the repertoire and sound-world which would have been completely familiar to the parishioners of Titchmarsh in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
It features works by several once-respected but now neglected composers, such as Edwin York Bowen and William Lloyd-Webber, many of whom were also organists, and who wrote good, ‘useful music’ for the organ.
Richard Hills also includes a couple of lighter items to represent that side of his playing and which seemed appropriate for a summer evening recital!
Richard Hills in his natural habitat – we’ll see a different side of his playhing in Titchmarsh!
