Now Booking: Summer Holiday

While we may not guarantee we can all get away on an ACTUAL summer holiday just yet, the Oundle Cinema team are delighted to announce this screening of Summer Holiday as part of this years Oundle International Festival.

Summer Holiday as many will know is a fabulous 1960s classic Cliff Richard (Don) movie including the words so you can sing along to your favourite songs. Four London bus mechanics head off on a European holiday in a red double decker bus. This is a test run preparing for the launch of an offbeat European continental travel service the bus. In an accident, they demolish the car of a group of female rock musicians, so offer to give the girls a ride to Athens.

They also pick up an American pop singer (Barbara) who is posing as a boy to hide from her press agent mother. Don and Barbara fall in love, but Barbara’s mother accuses him of abducting her, and the bus and the music roll on to Greece after a series of comic misadventures. The cast also includes the real rock group, The Shadows.

The screening takes place on July 12th at the Stahl Theatre in Oundle – more information and a link to purchase tickets can be found here in the events calendar.
