Our Summer Events

We are delighted to announce our 2023 Summer Events.

Creative Oundle is taking 2023 to consolidate and map out our future after the pandemic. This means we’ve got a list of events reduced in size – but hopefully not reduced in enjoyment – this Summer. Most events do not require advance booking, and are free with a retiring collection, but booking for our long established and hugely popular Party at The Wharf is now open through our Summer Events Overview page (link). Early booking for Party at The Wharf is strongly advised and, as in previous years, you can also reserve a gazebo pitch.

About the Oundle International Festival

Oundle International Festival began in 1985 as Oundle International Organ Week. Inspired by the installation of the Frobenius organ in Oundle School Chapel, it was decided to run a course for young organists allied to a music festival.

Students came, and continue to come from all over the world as do tutors. What makes Oundle for Organists  unique is that students attending the Summer School are exposed to the extraordinary breadth of music and broader performing arts in the Oundle International Festival: this unique opportunity is only available in Oundle.

In addition to UK performers, Oundle International Festival presents musicians from Europe, the Far East and the United States. As well as established musicians, It also offers career-developing opportunities to young professionals: our Young Artists Programme Recital series offers paid opportunities to performers at the beginning of their career. A significant number come from the East Midlands area.

We are proud of our community engagement which involves the participation of many hundreds of local musicians and artists each year. We work with local groups through our innovative Oundle on Show weekend, showcasing amateur music making (Rusty Players of Oundle, Oundle Fringe Festival, Oundle Artists, local schools groups among others). We also encourage outdoor activity with our occasional Open Gardens event including pop-up performances.
