Max is an historian and Oundle resident who has worked in the University sector undertaking various roles over the past 40 years. At Essex he was Director of the UK Data Archive and President of the Council of European Social Science Data Archives. He subsequently moved to Leicester were he was Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise (but is probably best known for his work on the discovery of Richard III!), and more recently has returned to Cambridge to work at the Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure. He also currently serves as an Oundle town councillor.
