CO Newsletter December 2024

Creative Oundle December Festive Newsletter

Dear Creative Oundle friend,

The last newsletter of 2024 and what a year!

It seems a long time ago that we had light nights and warm(ish!) evenings when HandleBards cycled into town to entertain us with wonderful Shakespearian entertainment at Barnwell Park. It was fantastic to see such a range of age groups enjoying their picnics whilst laughing along to the fun and frivolity on stage.
Then, in June, it was Open Gardens, a well loved event when the people of Oundle and surrounding areas flocked to the town to marvel at the spectacular horticultural displays. This bi annual event continues to be very popular where residents open up their outdoor spaces to share creative ideas and clever planting, some even provided the most scrumptious tea and cake!
We also had some lovely music events – Jacqui Dankworth came to town with an evening of jazz at the Stahl, there was a most delightful lunchtime recital by Rishiraj Ghosh (Young Musician of the Year Oundle 2023)  held in St. Peter’s Church. The musical finale, as always, was Party at the Wharf where the community came together to dance, eat, drink and be merry whilst listening to a fantastic range of bands.

Comedy continues to be a really popular regular event, with well known comedians along with up and coming new stars. Oundle is making it’s mark on the comedy circuit with the next two evenings of comedy in January and March introducing the possibility of pre-booking tables of four or six people so you can socialise with friends before and between acts.
